Pilar Valdés is a fierce motherfucker full of grace. A creative juggernaut powered by mystical forces. She is a sexy witch who loves Rainbow Brite. She believes in excellence and kindness, at the same time, all of the time. She comes from the Island of Enchantment where she performs pagan rituals on the beach by moonlight. Her mother is an amalgamation of Hecate, Metis and Flora and her father is Doc from Back to the Future. And now for the name dropping portion of this bio: As an actor, Pilar has worked with The LATC, The Pasadena Playhouse, UCB Sunset (R.I.P), Soho Rep., Stella Adler, and the Barefoot Theatre Company. As a writer, Pilar has developed for MACRO, UnbeliEVAble Entertainment, Prentice Penny and Sundial Pictures. Pilar is an alumni of the FOX Networks Writers Lab, and a fellow of Univision, Televisa, NALIP Latino Lens, a Woman in Film mentee and a THREAD at YALE University scholarship recipient. She worked as a writer for Latina magazine and for the film and television section of remezcla.com.
Pilar wrote, acted and produced the short film FAMILIA. The short was selected by the L.A. Shorts Film Festival, the Oscar qualifying Rhode Island Flicker’s Film Festival and was shortlisted for the New Filmmakers Los Angeles Film Festival in Partnership with The Academy of Motion Pictures Arts & Sciences. The feature is in development. She also has Oscar winning mentors, but feels like we don’t need to mention them here. Pilar feels like this is already too long. Pilar loves Joy.
